Our story

From Trees to Seas

We are so grateful that you’ve landed here.

We are a Canadian couple — Cody and Gina, and most importantly, our senior fish mongrel, Hyde.

Our story begins in Canada, where we met in the wild backcountry of British Columbia, doing what we knew best — planting trees.

Climbing mountains with seedlings strapped to our waists, day after day, season after season. Between the two of us, we’ve planted roughly 4 million trees by hand!

When the two of us came together, Cody had already begun planning his exit from the default world and was dreaming of a life abroad — or rather, a life aboard — sailing the world, learning new skills, and understanding what it really means to surrender. With our vision crystal clear, we followed the path of our dream — one step, one challenge, and one leap of faith at a time.

Flash forward four years, we finished up the last of our renovations to our properties, and with the help of some truly wonderful people, we drove diagonally across the continent in a U-Haul to begin our next chapter.

We picked up our catamaran, Lost Abbey, and began our journey south towards Grenada. Eyes closed, head first, we dove in, knowing somewhere in the back of our minds that the universe had a plan for us. Though we faced a few challenges and had no shortage of broken parts, the great spirit of the ocean embraced us, and somewhere along the way, we earned the title of sailors!

So here we find ourselves, ready and confident that we can begin our next chapter of sharing this magical life with you — family and friends, old and new.
